We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In particular:

  • APP 1: We maintain this privacy policy and make it publicly available
  • APP 3: We collect only information that is reasonably necessary for platform operation
  • APP 5: We notify users of how their information is collected and used
  • APP 6: We use information only for the purposes for which it was collected
  • APP 11: We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access
  • APP 12: Users may request access to their personal information
  • APP 13: Users may request correction of inaccurate information

5. Governance Record Data — Special Considerations

Governance records created in EDGE may contain information relevant to industrial safety, regulatory compliance, and operational decisions. Users are responsible for ensuring that information submitted to the platform is appropriate for cloud storage and does not breach any confidentiality obligations to their organisation or third parties.

Locked governance records are designed to be immutable. Once locked, the field values, audit trail, and outcomes recorded in a governance record cannot be modified. This is by design — the evidentiary integrity of locked records depends on immutability.

Users who require governance records to be deleted for legal or operational reasons should contact info@edgeintegratedsystems.com.au. Deletion requests will be assessed in accordance with our legal obligations and the evidentiary requirements of the relevant jurisdiction.

6. Data Storage and Security

Platform data is stored using Base44 infrastructure. Data is stored in cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security controls including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and audit logging.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period after account closure to satisfy legal obligations.

Governance records are retained in accordance with the retention requirements of the jurisdiction and industry in which the work order was raised. Users are responsible for ensuring their retention configuration satisfies applicable regulatory requirements including:

  • Work health and safety record retention requirements under applicable WHS legislation
  • NOPSEMA record-keeping requirements for offshore petroleum operators
  • Industry-specific record retention obligations

8. Third-Party Services

The EDGE platform uses third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude) to power advisory features. AI advisory outputs are generated from information submitted to the platform. Advisory outputs are not shared with third parties beyond the AI processing required to generate them. AI processing is subject to Anthropic's privacy and data handling policies.

The deterministic governance scoring engine does not use AI and does not transmit data to external services.

9. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of inaccurate information. To make a request, contact info@edgeintegratedsystems.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint with us at info@edgeintegratedsystems.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updated policies will be published at this URL. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
